Kim Young and owner, Sheryl Cooksley, have been best friends for almost 25 years. Kim has been Sheryl’s trusted “person” and brings her caring, “go-get-’em” nature to Family Tree Doula Services.
Kim is a professionally trained Postpartum Doula and Infant Care Specialist. She has provided support for her disabled sister and for others experiencing disabilities. She was an approved respite provider through DHS for foster children. Kim spent several years as a volunteer at a local grade school, even earning the award of Volunteer of the Year. She even spent time as an Officer on the school’s PTO and was the local Girl Scout Troop leader.
Kim is passionate about providing solid support to women and guiding them as they develop their confidence. She is compassionate to the core and won’t hesitate to sit with you while you cry on her shoulder. She may be small, but she is mighty! Kim loves babies and enjoys providing information that allows new families to develop a strong foundational support in their home. She admits that she is not the go-to cook on our team, but she is not short on ideas to help a family stay fed.
Kim is the mother of 3 and grandmother of 2. She loves living in rural Clackamas County with her family and dog, Ranger.
Kim believes it’s an honor to be welcomed into your family home during this vulnerable time and is excited to support new families in whatever way makes the most sense.
